Accessibility statement

Aperture Experiences (a DBA of Dan Jahn Photography, LLC) is committed to making apertureexperiences.com usable by everyone, including people who browse with a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification, or reduced motion enabled.

Conformance target

We are working to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.

Current status

Partially conformant, actively remediating. Partially conformant means most of the site meets the standard, but some content does not yet fully conform. We audit the site against WCAG 2.1 AA, keep an accessibility linter running against every change, and fix what we find as we find it.

What we have done

• A skip link to the main content, a single main landmark on every page, and labelled navigation regions.
• Full keyboard operability with a visible gold focus indicator on every interactive element.
• Text and form-field boundaries checked against the WCAG contrast thresholds (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for control boundaries).
• Programmatic labels on every form field, errors announced to screen readers, and success messages announced politely.
• Support for the system-level reduced motion, reduced transparency, and increased contrast settings.
• An on-page “Pause animation” control in the footer (and on the home page hero) that stops everything which moves on its own — the rotating hero photographs, the film grain and the scroll cue — without touching any system setting.

Known limitations

• Some purely decorative hairline dividers sit below the 3:1 contrast threshold. They carry no information, but they may be hard to see.
• Card and pill outlines around content that is also labelled in text are deliberately low-contrast; the text inside them meets AA.
• Payment fields are rendered by Stripe inside a secure frame. We configure them to match our theme, but their internal behaviour is outside our control.

We aim to acknowledge every accessibility report within two business days, tell you what we found, and give you a workaround while we fix the underlying issue.
